Okechukwu Keshi who resigned barely 24 hours of winning the African cup of
nations for Nigeria is back as a coach.Hmm...Funny. This resignation was
because Kechi was already sacked before he helped his country win her AFCON
cup. The saga between him and the Nigerian Football Federation began before Nigeria
played with the Ivory Coast on Feb.3rd.
Kechi made this report known on Metro FM South Africa with Robert Marawa
.When NFF heard that Nigeria would play against the star-studded Ivory Coast,
they had quickly booked a plane that would bring Kechi back to Nigeria.
Kechi was quoted as saying “It’s a shame
in Africa, When there’s an African coach nobody wants to give you time,
they want you to have the job today, build a wonderful team tomorrow and next
year win the World Cup. If only we could work out how these things work we
could have more success. But most coaches aren’t given freedom to work so they
are held back.“ He did not believe that NFF have no regards for his position as
a coach and faith in him.
And he surprised everyone by beating Ivory
Coast and winning the cup. However, this resignation from Kechi would have to
be tabled before NFF. This is really unfortunate...And they have sat and called
him back...
I wonder if NFF is the one coaching him
or...
